Michelle

My name is Michelle Keith and I love Taekwondo. This sport has been a huge part of my life for fifteen years and now I have a tremendous opportunity to make it my job as well. Artisan Taekwondo is the product of my dreams.

I have a strong background in teaching all ages and ability levels and in a variety of fields. The highlights: I have been an instructor for the Red Cross for almost 12 years – first as a Water Safety Instructor and then also as a First Aid/CPR instructor. I have worked as a volunteer in elementary schools in Regina, working on reading, writing, and math skills and have run after-school drama programs throughout the past eight years.

I am a 3rd Dan WTF Black Belt. I hold a National 1 Level Referee Certification and have been a National referee for seven years. I am also a certified International Poomse Referee with the PanAmerican Taekwondo Union. I have all of my NCCP Multi-Sport Awards and I have been in attendance as Taekwondo develops the sport-specific NCCP modules.

I started teaching Taekwondo when I was sixteen years old and I have made a promise to myself and to every one of my students since that time: as soon as I know it all, I will quit teaching. I love to learn as much as I love to teach and so my commitment is to never get stagnant. I will always be looking for ways to improve my classes. I will always be looking for knowledge to pass on to my students. I believe this is how we grow and I believe it is the only way to honour this sport that has given me so much.
